Well, it’s not quite Halloween yet, but I love Halloween so much I couldn’t help sending you tidings of the season (humor me, please).

First, the kudos:

Congratulations to Chef Marc on winning the Chili Cook-off! Thanks to Allison, the Staff of Urban Mountain Development, and the business owners and friends on Bullwhacker Block for making it happen! If you’d like to see the trophy, it’s on display in our bar.

All Hallow’s Eve Tidings

We won’t be having live music on Halloween, but we will be having live fun! Dress up for the costume contest at 9 p.m. (winner will receive a prize, of course). There will be drink specials and Marc has promised something a little frightening (in a yummy way, of course) in the dining room.

Thanksgiving Day Schedule and Menu

Those of you who joined us last year know how nice it was to just show up and not have to spend hours, perhaps days, slaving in the kitchen. Plus, it means more entree choices for everyone, so that if Great Uncle Mo wants prime rib instead of turkey, he can have it!

Here’s the deal:

You make a reservation by calling 443-3395 or responding to this email. The first seating is at 11 a.m., last seating at 5 p.m. (Reservations are not strictly necessary, but last year we filled up fast.)

Then you eat:

Turkey with all the trimmings,
Rosemary-garlic pork loin with butternut squash and apple-raisin chutney,
Espresso-rubbed prime rib with horseradish mashed potatoes and green beans, OR
Pumpkin risotto with braised leeks, sauteed mushrooms, and fresh sage (VEGAN)

All entrees will come with a salad. The cost will be $19.95 for adults, $16.95 for seniors 65 and older, $12.95 for kids 6-12, and kids under 6 eat free.

You can also order (if you like), your choice of appetizers to share. There will be duck confit served on cranberry bread and our own pumpkin ravioli (in response to numerous requests).

We will have dessert available (sour cherry and apple tart with our cinnamon ice cream and caramel sauce OR pumpkin mousse).

There will be wine specials as well.

We’d love to have your family join our family for Thanksgiving!

Don’t forget about our delicious lunch! Join us for:

Lunch Specials from the Kitchen of Cafe Artemis

Wednesday (tomorrow)
Cajun Style Fried Catfish Po Boy

Thursday

Every Friday
Fish Sandwich

Every Saturday is Burger Day!

Monday, November 3

Holidays, holidays

We are now booking holiday parties! Give me a call or shoot me an email and I’ll help you plan yours!

Until next week!
